The idea of having a Club for the benefit of residents of New Friends Colony and neighboring areas was conceived under the dynamic leadership of Late Mr. S.C. Chhabra (Padmashri) Founder President. He got full support of persons like Late Mr. A.D. Sapra, Mr. Kamal Kapoor, Vice Presidents, Mr. Harish Kapoor, Hon. Secretary, and Mr. D.P. Sehgal, Treasurer along with 18 other Founder Members, who stood by as solid supporting pillers. Their hard work yielded the result and the Club was registered in 1989 under the Societies Act.

The next step to get the piece of land allotted from the D.D.A was a herculean task. Once done Mr. Som Sharma of Organic India was appointed as the Architect, who prepared the Drawings of the building and construction of Club House commenced after approval of Drawings in 1991.

There were numerous problems and struggles such as approval of Building plans, paucity of funds, legal battle etc. Finally the massive 5 storied building got ready in 1993 and the Club started functioning in January, 1994. To start with, we had just one Restaurant, Bar, Card Room and King sized Lounge. The process of development then started in phases and today we are in possession of 2 multi cuisine Restaurants, 3 Bars, 3 Banquet/Party Halls, Conference/Meeting Room, Six Residential Rooms, Squash Court, Badminton Court, Pool & Billiards Room, Card Room, Unisex Beauty Parlour, Covered Swimming Pool, Gymnasium with Aurobics, Saunna & steam Bath, T.T. Room, Staff Room etc. New Friends Club is like second home for most of our members, where they come, relax, meet people, eat, drink, play games and enjoy the Cultural functions organized periodically.

"New Friends Club" has become the best known ´Colony Club´ not only in Delhi but in the Country. Our Club is affiliated with nearly 100 different Clubs all over the country, where our Members, while on a visit to these Cities can enjoy comfortable stay, wine & dine on reciprocal basis. However, we have to continue our efforts to make it still better in times to come. The Club is managed by a 22 elected members under the dynamic and selfless leadership of the President.
